PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Exercise is one of the best stress busters out there. When you work out, your body releases natural chemicals that lessen stress and improve your mood.

If you haven’t been exercising much, try walking. You can start with a walk at lunch or after dinner.

Another big step to cut down on stress is cutting down on the caffeine. Caffeine makes many people feel tense, worried or stressed. If you like that cup of coffee, try decaf coffee or tea instead.

Remember, many sodas containe caffeine. So if soda is your drink of choice, switch to a caffeine-free variety.

Finally, consider easy breathing techniques to reduce stress. Simply close your eyes and slowly take a few deep breaths. Try inhaling through your nose and exhaling through your mouth. Breathe in slowly and count to five, then breathe out on a count…
