Little Rock School District students marched peacefully at the state capitol on Thursday. In a protest they organized on their own, they marched together, determined to get their message across.
“What we’re trying to do is just to give all the students out here a voice,” said Leonel Martinez. “To make sure that they don’t just stay unheard while they do all the things they think they know that’s better for us, while we take a stand and do what we know is good for us.”
It’s a message they wanted the state board of education to hear loud and clear.
“Recently we watched our education be bought by shady groups in a process that was not democratic,” said Central High School Senior Sally Goldman.
