Bill O’Brien’s final press conference before Sunday’s season opener was one of his shortest yet, perhaps the calm before the storm of the regular season.
He said he’ll take the same approach in any pre-game motivational tactics.
“I told them, ‘It’s the players time now,’ it’s pro football and we’ll give them a message before we hit the field but it’s their game,” the rookie NFL head coach said.
The tight-end position was a hot topic given Garrett Graham’s recent back injury that has his status up in the air.
O’Brien said Graham will essentially be a game-time decision.
If Graham is unable to go, rookie C.J. Fiedorowicz is likely to receive the bulk of Graham’s minutes, something that doesn’t make O’Brien nervous.
